Why is the actual colour of my product different from the picture?


Actual colours may vary. This is because every computer monitor has a different capability to display colours and everyone sees these differently. We try to edit our photos to show the samples as true to life as possible, but please understand this may vary slightly on your monitor. We cannot guarantee that the colour you see accurately portrays the true colour of the product.




Are your products handmade?


Our products are handcrafted by beautiful humans and are not machine-made. Please be aware there may be small imperfections and items may not be exactly the same as the photographed product. This is part of the handmade process, which is what makes our products unique and should not be seen as a fault. This should not affect the overall aesthetic of the product and its ability for the intended use - it will just add to its story!




Will you make this item again?


Most likely not. Nearly all of our products are one-off or small runs of close similarity - this means they may have a slight difference such as different coloured parts, but they're never exactly the same. This is also the nature of handmade products - something will always be unique. However, there is always the one exception to the rule. Items such as pasties (E.g. stars, circles, ovals and crosses) are created to order following patterns of our own design. These can be customised for the client but the basic shape is the same.




I want this colour octopus with this accessory and that style hat - do you have one like that?


If you are struggling to choose and have your heart set on a purple octopus body with a rainbow top hat and a monocle with eyelashes or any other combination of things, it sounds like you should message us about a custom order. If we have the parts we are happy to work with you to bring your desired little cephalopod creation to life!




Do you do gift cards?


Does a special person in your life keep mentioning Noctifera but you're not sure which item they'd like? Or maybe they'd like something bespoke? We currently don't have gift cards available to purchase through our store but we will sort out a gift certificate for you. Just get in touch.





Delivery

Can I pick up my order from an event you are trading at?


Of course! Just send us a message on any of our social media platforms or via our email. Even if we are not trading at an event, message us! You never know - we might actually be attending.




How long will it take for me to receive my order?


We aim to dispatch all online orders within 3 working days. Custom orders, due to their nature, could fall outside of the 3 working days, but this will be discussed in the initial consultation. UK orders, once dispatched, can take 1 to 14 days to arrive at their destination. This will vary according to the shipping method chosen at checkout. For international orders, please see the International Orders tab.




Where is my order?


We send all of our orders with tracking details unless otherwise required by the customer. If there are any problems, please don't hesitate to drop us a message and we will investigate it further for you.




Can I cancel my order?


Yes, if you contact us as soon as you decide you want to cancel. Shop orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order. If you wish to cancel your custom order please do bear in mind that the deposit paid is non-refundable.




Do you take international orders?


We are happy to work with you if you want to order our products from overseas. Please read the following: When a package is shipped internationally, it may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country. These charges will typically be due once the shipped goods arrive at the country of destination. Such charges are not included in the product price or shipping and handling costs. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility as we are only charging the transportation fee for your order. Noctifera Creations does not have any responsibility for these additional charges that may apply. The buyer is responsible for obtaining information regarding their country’s laws, regulations and restrictions that may apply when purchasing our products. By placing an international order (shipping outside of the UK), the buyer is responsible for abiding by their country’s laws, regulations and restrictions. If you would like international shipping, please contact us so we can advise and make arrangements.





Custom Orders

Do you create burlesque custom orders?


We are happy to talk about ideas and projects for whatever you need - whether that is a set of pasties shaped like a band symbol (for instance!) or a full made to measure bespoke outfit. Please contact us via email at Noctifera.Creations@gmail.com or via one of our social pages. We usually run a first come, first served system in regards to custom orders. Although this can change slightly due to things outside of our control, such as lead time from suppliers, waiting for an arranged fitting date and so on. We want to assure you that we have not forgotten about your item and we will always keep you up to date on any changes. Depending on the requirements, we may ask for a small deposit fee before we start your bespoke creation. All deposits vary depending on the quote provided. They are non-refundable and will be deducted from your final bill.




Do you do Steampunk custom orders?

Exchange and Returns

How do I make a return or exchange?


We are sorry to hear that you want to return/exchange an order to us. Please contact us at the first instance and we will do our best to resolve any issues you have prior to returning your item. Should you still need to make a return, please complete the following: 1. Download and print a returns form No Printer? No problem. Simply include the following details on a piece of paper and include alongside the item(s) in the parcel. Full Name Order number Email address Phone number Complete list of items being returned & reason for return. 2. You may send any unwanted items back to us within 14 days of the delivery of the order for a refund or credit. Please remember to fill out the order number, it will be in your email notifications.If you need any help with making a return please do not hesitate to contact us. Please note:Items must be in their original condition and in their original packaging, unworn, unwashed and complete with their original tags (if applicable). Any promotional items included free of charge must also be returned. If sending items back from outside of the UK, make sure to declare items as returned goods - clearly state 'UK RETURNED GOODS' on any parcel. Any duties on returned goods will remain the responsibility of the customer. Only items returned within 14 days of delivery are eligible for a cash refund. Refunds will be credited to the original payment method.For any items returned that were part of a multi-buy promotion such as Buy One Get One Half Price, Buy One Get One Free, 3 for 2, or similar - the refund value of returned products will be calculated based on the promotional savings of any items not returned and therefore may not equate to the full value of the item(s) specifically being returned. Shipping fees will not be credited. Gift certificates are non-returnable and do not qualify for a refund. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for us to process your returned item/s. We always aim to be faster. We reserve the right to refuse a refund or credit for items that are not in a re-sellable condition - regardless of the presence of original packaging and whether the item was worn or not. Refunds will not be issued for items that we determine cannot be resold. We may make such determination based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to; the appearance, smell and/or general condition of the item when it's returned to us.





Pasties

How do I know my pastie size?


The sizes are for the area that you would like covered - normally this is to the edge of the areola, but the size is completely up to you and how much you want to be covered. If these seem too small or too large for you please enter the size you would like in 0.5cm increments by clicking the **other** option in the sizes box. How to measure: You will need a ruler and a mirror. Measure the widest part you want to be covered by the pasties - this is normally the areola or where the skin begins to go darker towards your nipple. Top tip - be sure to measure both breasts as sometimes one areola is wider than the other. If this is you, don’t wrry - it’s completely natural! The size you buy is completely up to you and your preference. If you want to have everything covered and you are between sizes, go for the higher size. If you’re still unsure, please contact us and we will happily advise. We will soon be creating a print out sizing guide for our pasties. We understand that everyone has different bodies so we do our best to create a wide size range to encompass all. If you don't fall into our sizing guide, please let us know and we can work with you to make the pasties perfect for you.




I saw a set of pasties on your social media, where are they?


Every pair of pasties we make are made to order. We may occasionally make a pair to showcase a technique or style etc. or for website photography. If we have a pair like this available, we will post on social media with a link for purchase. We are currently creating a range of items that we will always have available in the store for purchase so please be patient. You can always message or email us for details.




What do I use to stick pasties on?


Pasties can be attached by a variety of methods so please always be safe with your skin and our products. People have been known to use carpet tape or non-skin safe glues - we do not recommend this! We currently recommend toupee tape, wig tape or body tape as these are less likely to cause damage to your pasties. Some people also use high quality spirit gum or body glue.




Help! My pasties won’t stick!


First things first - don’t panic. Remove the glue or tape you tried and try again. A good tip to help is to clean the skin with a cotton pad or small damp cloth with 99% Isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry before applying your glue or tape of choice. This will break down the oils and sweat on the skin, leaving a clean dry surface for maximum stick! 99% Isopropyl alcohol can also be used to clean any makeup or anything else stuck to the pastie back. Isopropyl alcohol can be found at the same stores as Pros-Aide special effects adhesive and similar products. Do not use Isopropyl alcohol on the skin at all if you are using fire.




How do I care for my pasties?


After carefully removing your pasties, make sure to clean off any residue left behind by the adhesive or make up and allow them to dry out completely before replacing them in their box.
